Updated July security patch, next day phone died 5 hours quicker then ever before.
3 days pass and my battery lasts not even half a day anymore, charging is beyond slow. If using a laptop charger, your losing battery by listening to iheartradio app with the phone off.
Sitting here browing the web on fast charger, 30 minutes I've gained 3% charge from 73% to 76%.
Cleared phone cache and have done multiple steps I've seen while researching this problem. Doesn't help, charging is ridiculous now. I have to carry 2 battery packs to charge my phone because it dies so quickly.
Soooooo, where's the patch for this? Or where's the revert back to before this July update junk?

Update since I seem to still get responses to this.
Battery life went back to normal a few weeks after this post. Probably from an Update.
As of today 5/28/25 battery on this phone is back to normal and will last almost all day.
By "almost all day" I mean:
Watching Netflix for a few hours, texting, browsing web. Not playing too many games (games suck the battery life away depending on what you are playing) but an average screen time of 6-10 hrs daily.
For a powerful phone, that I use 50% in tablet mode. This thing is absolutely amazing. And I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from buying the fold. For me, it has been the greatest phone upgrade of my life (since before we had phones in school)
It's heavy, a brick, but doesnt break that's for sure. Skinny to fit in my pocket, but HUGE when unfolded. (Just a tiny bit skinny when not unfolded compared to other phones, my fat thumbs sometimes have problems hitting the edge letters like q and p due to my screen protector.
The speed, processing power, graphics, ease of use is amazing. And the ability to have multiple apps up is a game changer.
Anyone who has adhd, this phone will be a godsend! It will be hard to go back to a phone that doesnt play Netflix in PiP mode and use multiple apps behind it.
Other than this one stint of battery life, I've never had a problem with this phone, and if you are looking into a foldable phone....BUY THIS!
The fold 5 compared to The fold 6 is no even noticeable imo..just a new phone. So if you can find a fold 5 cheap, NEW, then grab it.
Only problem with the fold 5, once the inside screen starts to peel up from use, it'll never stop and only get worse. Trade it in (Samsung has a very good trade in system and you get good money for the phone, more than selling it yourself that's for sure)
The fold 6 being waterproof/resistance is the biggest change I would say. Now when I keep my movie playing while its hanging on the holder in the shower, I don't have to worry about moisture or anything peeling away the skin. Had this phone for almost a year now, looks brand spanking new.
I hope this helps anyone that reaches this thread as I absolutely love this phone and don't want to deter anyone away from it.
Was just surprised I am still receiving notifications from this post so thought I would update it 👍

Try running the diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members App @vash179
There us also > Safe Mode > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.
Device Care Section under Battery is a good tool to see what apps are using the battery too.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Since downloading the update at 1am on July 19th, even in the battery stats it Cleary shows a huge decline in %. Entire week prior looks like your going down a slope, July 19th looks like you fall off a cliff.
How can I backtrack my phone to prior July security patch? How can I uninstall this update?

We been having issues with the s23 since June patch came out have reported it to Samsung tried to sent for repair but got refused and once July update came out we just gave up and switched. It’s appalling and shouldn’t go on this long

Unfortunately you can’t you will have to deal with it until Samsung decides it wants to sort it.

You could also try to send in for repair but Samsung refused me as they say it will get fixed with an update but not been told when. It could be august update it could be September 🤷🏻♂️

Convenient that ya send me out a phone destroying patch, 1 week before the new version of this comes out🧐

Yea I see what you’re saying but it’s happening on devices that are mid cycle and older devices as well. I think it’s just incompetence if you ask me

Will say that the battery drain has tapered off a bit. It's noticeable still, but actually bearable (meaning not losing 1% every minute)
This will be the last time though that I update my phone on the first alert to install a new patch. It'll be waiting to you force my phone to do that or I can't use it till I do.
Having no option to backtrack, or undo a recent patch seems ridiculous imo.
As mad as I am about the patch, and as much as I love google. Still don't think I can switch yet, this phones too good.
just DONT RUIN IT SAMSUNG!
